New network problem
« on: September 19, 2004, 12:21:13 PM »
I'd be bald as ripsnort right now if I didn't have the self control not to pull my hair out but here's a new one.

Wirless B setup.

Wife's puter now has the wirless card....Works fine

My puter connects directly with the linksys router then to the DSL modem.  (can't ping the router)

Windows says I have a connection but nothing.

Here's what I've tried so far

 "windows connection repair"  No go

Changed ports on the router....no go

Changed CAT 5 cables....no go

Reset the router to factory specs.....no go

reinstalled the driver for my onboard LAN.....no go

again the router seems fine because my wifes puter wich is on wirless B works great.  The router is set up for PPPoE connection and its on factory default settings

The next thing I'm going to do is install my old NIC card and see if that works.

EDIT:  I've also tried pinging the router and it times out.

Anyone have any other ideas that I havnt tried yet?

New network card fixed it.  Scares me that something ONBOARD isnt working.  Makes me wonder what's going to go out next.

Normally new drivers makes onboard card come to life again.
My ammo last for 6 Lancasters, or one Yak3.
