I like the cut of Dan's jib too, it goes well with the nightly news.

I cant' wait to see how this plays out. Forging government documents is a felony, right?

And to think they forged the documents just to try to diminish Bush's guard service.......which nobody cares about, even if it were true.

Amazing.

Hehe... I said I didn't see one in that last thread because there wasn't one. So, what exactly is your point?

My point is perception of "Truth" sometimes can be mistaken for "Yellow Journalism".

If there isn't an award for Journalistic BS there should be and this should win hands down.

"It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism."

No, and you are dead wrong. The article I was talking about said there was a concession and there was not. PERIOD.

Whether you think there should have been one is not germaine to the argument. You are wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. Now go stand in the corner until you can admit it.

CBS said Burkett acknowledged he provided the documents and said he deliberately misled a CBS producer, giving her a false account of their origin to protect a promise of confidentiality to a source.

What's the penalty for Forgery in Texas?

Not just Texas..there are Federal laws against tampering with an election..this would fall under that. Plus it would probrably be a federal forgery case and not just Texas...I hope they make whoever made those documents pay for it. Stirring so much trouble for nothing.

As promised, now that CBS is no longer certain they are authentic, neither am I.

I also still believe CBS News and Rather, this will only serve to make them a better news organization in the future.
