Is it possible for CT staff to set level of damage that a base may sustain?  Is it possible to pork fuel down to zero?

Arena settings can be adjusted to make targets harder or easier to take out, so the short answer is yes, but it wont be base specific, the settings will be universal in the arena.

I dunno storch we can set how many LB's it takes to destroy a specific type of target, but how the loss of that object has changed from AH and I don't know if that is a variable that we can change or if it's hard coded.   So the short answer is I don't know if it's possible on our end or not.

Hey Storch,

It's a good question, but the short answer is no on the fuel, and yes on the base damage. It is physically impossible to set a bases fuel to zero. But you can take down FH/BH/VH's to accomplish the same.  We can however increase or decrease the amount of damage a field object can take before it's destroyed. We can also control how long it takes to repair it.

We could set the downtimes for hours and hours (days?) - I'm at work and can't look at the setting.  Will post after.

No complaints.  The reason for the question is more one of  strategic gameplay and a moving of the battle front.  Taking the current map as an example could we up some Jabos, incapacitate a field (A73 as an example) but not necessarily capture it.  In other words would it be possible to render a base useless to the enemy and also to ourselves were we to capture it?  It could then be captured at one's leisure  but also causing the battle front to move elsewhere irrespective of the field's immediate capture.  These maps we must suffer with aren't real condusive to CT play and I'm looking at adding another dimension to the game.  I was thinking it would be great to force the opposing to side to work to hold real estate.  The price for not doing so would be a push back into a pocket.  We would all have to become proficient in all elements of the game.  I thought it might be fun to try.

To answer your last yes Storch you can incapacitate a base to the point that it will not be usable to either side. Its the same concept as what is done in the MA all the time and is a constant whiner point on the channels in there when it happens.

As for moving the front it seems like a good idea but what if we did something like I suggested a while back and moved the "front" every couple of days? Would that have the effect that you seem to be looking for?

With all due respect :D  I'd rather move the front along myself ;)   My proposal would be to knock a base out for one or two hours so that a consistent strategy may be played out by interested players.  That means even if the base is captured the ack, hangers fuel ,ammo etc that was taken out remains out for the agreed upon length of time.  That would allow the opposing side to counter the offensive easier, in short if a base was contended it would be a hard won base.  You couldn't just grab and go.  There may be some whining but I suspect it will be from the non regulars.  If the rules are spelled out clearly in the MOTD it should not be a problem.  I think the strat players would appreciate this idea.
