I've been reading about some other message board systems. Some offer "peer moderation". Threads that are rated below a certain point are not displayed.

I wonder if vBulletin has the same feature in mind for the future.

I've seen some BBS systems which were ruined due to that feature.   What happened in those cases is a BBS "clique" started to rate down anything they didn't like/disagreed with.

I can't imagine that happening here!

Yea I've seen this too.  You give the posters a rating or something.  Not to fond of that either.  I did recomend electing some of us to moderators in the O'club...not sure if that's been tried before or not, but it sounds good to me.

Question:  If you could elect ANYONE in this forum to be a moderator who would it be AND why?

Mine would have to be Sandman......I dont recall any real off the wall posts from him....he has a pretty grounded way of thinking...I think he'd be fair.

It's academic, of course, but I'd vote for him too.

Sandman, Nash or Curval would be good choices. But Nash and Curval are not American so there would be massive flames.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Nah - I'd be a horrible choice.

It'd be a free-fer-all... and some people's feelings might get hurt. :)

While I appreciate the sentiment, gentlemen theres a couple of reasons why I'm probably not a good choice.

1. I do occasionally troll.
2. I'd make Skuzzy look soft.

and don't forget.... if we have liberal moderators we get a better deal...

we not only get them working hard to further the cause but we also get their wives and or girfriends they are trying to impress.

I blame myself... none of this happened till I learned how to post pics...  two pics and the whole board about shuts down.
