Ok.....I've been trying to network two compters together for file sharing and it's not working for me.

I have two computers....One w/ a wirless PCI card...the other connected directly to the linksys router.

They are both on WinXP SP2 SAME INSTALL CD.

I'm selecting the choice (when running the network setup wizard) "I connect to a resedential gateway or another computer to connect to the internet"  Is that the right one.

Further info:  The computer on wirless sees both computers in the workgroup but gets access denied when it trys to access the other one.

The computer that can't be accessed does not see either computer on the workgroup and gets message that "work group is not available or access denied.

Both computers can ping eachother

I have an account on BOTH computers w/ the SAME password.

OK now with that said my brother said something about changing the LMHOST file but I didnt understand what he said.  Anyone got any ideas?

Did you check your firewall settings.  SP2 installs a MS firewall, but I'm not very familiar with it.
On ZoneAlarm i've seen this happen.  You have to open up the local ip range or something like that.
