ICK!

I've ended numerous skins that way.  Which one was it?

If you "saved as" a different file format, it *should* have made a new file, ie...

nopoop.psd
nopoop.bmp

... are named the same, but still two separate entities. Are you sure you overwrote it? I don't really see how this is possible.

My condolences Nopoop.   It was weeks before I could bring myself to redo my first P-51BSID.PSD, to which I did the same thing as you.   It is so easy to do accidentally - I think this is a real shortcoming of PS.

Any, the magnetic lasso will help alot as you rebuild you layers.   Use zoom liberally.

Chin up!   Your work is to great to leave on the shelf!

(or maybe just submit the bmp - knowing your work quality, it was probably good enough to make it inot the game some time ago!)

Oh I did it Dux. Changed the mode to BMP and even when a BMP it shows in the save box as a PSD.

"Master fuse already exists, do you want to replace it ??" :D

I can save it by painting over the panel lines and weathering. It's just a pain and a waste of time. Lay in new panel lines, weathering and lose alittle changing mode when it's already been once..

Problem is Oboe I work the photo side first to work out all the kinks and THEN do the right side..just had the basics of the right side done working on paint matches at the top of the fuse. Panel lines weren't adjusted yet..Fortunatly I'd transfered the lettering and insignia so it's a pain, but doable.

I took it pretty well. Nothing got broken in the house and the dog is still healthy..

Oh, I get ya now, Poop.

Sorry, man... live and learn. ;)

FWIW, I never "save as..." anymore;

"Save a copy as..." will become your bestest friend. It guarantees that you write a totally separate file, and because it doesn't let you save the BMP as 8-bit from there, it kinda forces you to close out the Master and open the new copy in another window so you can save it down to Indexed.

Better luck next time. Bummer.

I went through two keyboards, and a mouse before I put some duct tape on my monitor to hide the option.

Damn Nopoop!  That sucks.  I always save twice - I have a directory labeled 'backup' that I routinely save as a different file name after I've saved the actual working file.

I also found that PSP8 doesn't like the undo command at times.  Once in a while it will somehow erase a huge section of a different layer for no reason at all.  I save allllll the time.

Hehe, even when playing Doom 3, I save every two steps, literally.  Well, part of that is because I was skeerd :D
