egg shell armour - 262
« on: October 01, 2004, 08:58:16 AM »
can someone tell me why 303's from a lancaster always kills my 262 INSTANTLY?

no damage, just straight to tower

yet if i went after a b17 it takes a while, and damage before i get killed.

so to some it up

100-500 50's from b17 to kill 262
1-10 303s from lancaster to kill 262

why is that?

If your pilot is hit with a lethal shot, the death is instant.  Several other threads have described a propensity for the .303 and 7.62mm (light MG) rounds from tanks and bombers to cause pilot wounds.

IIRC I saw a post somewhere saying the rear guns in the Lancs are 50 cals not 303s.  I'll have to see if I can do a search for it.

.50 Cal Rear Turrets
