But in a fight you dont have time to take hands off your stick to adjust trim and zooms and flap , it needs to be on throttle or stick.

Was it easy to identify where to hook up the switches on the PCB?

How did you figure that out?


BTW - taking your hand off the throttle to adjust certain things, without looking for a key on a keyboard is HOTAS as far as I am concerned.  The big thing is not having to take you eye off the bandit.

All the original tactile switches are still on the boards and are easy to identify - you just attach the wires directly to the back of the board where the switch terminals come though.

Yeah, it aint HOTAS, but you can stick it down on your table close to your throttle hand and use it without looking. If you were building a custom cockpit you could easily populate the front and side panels with all manner of switches instead of putting them in a box like I've done.

No worries, be happy to help. It ain't difficult and I'm sure you'll figure it out.

BTW, my RT prefix is for "Red Tails". I think The Rolling Thunder arrived just after RedTails started using RT. We don't use it any more as you guys outnumber us. I'll change my forums profile one day :)
