....and give us a 109E, a Spit I, a P-51B, a nice drab green B-17F, etc.  If we keep going where we're going we'll wind up in Korea. (eeek! )

korea dosn't have the charm of ww2 era

its not that interesting to fly these post ww2 prop jobs since the korean war is quintesentially the war of the jets. (mig vs sabre)

i would have no problem perking the current planeset.

provided they add a p-38f

Fester was my in game name until September 2013

Well, it would seem as though RAM read a little to deep in a post again ...but point well taken.  You can't have an environment with a 1940 planeset with the occasional 109G-10 rolling through eating things up with a 30mm.

The simple idea here is that there seems to be a demand for an earlier planeset.  This might be a way to work towards it.  The title of this tread may have seemed a bit extreme, but it was just a stab at humor .

P-51B/C outperforms P-51D/K...

Maybe you mean a Mustang Mk. I?

The P51C had a better climb rate 6.9 vs 7.3 (mins) climb to 20K.
The P51C was lighter 300lbs lighter
The P51C had the same engine and power as the D model.
The P51C had a slightly better turn rate due its lighter weight => lower wing loading.

The P51C only had 4*50 cals whereas the D had 6*50cals.

And funked is right (as usual) the C model outperforms the K model, but not the H

FYI B and C are same plane, different factory.  AKA Mustang Mk. III

Same for D and K. (Mustang Mk. IV)

Ahem!

P-51B + P-51C + P-51K = 3 new plane skins with minmum flight model work.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!
