Just curious.

So Usefull I actually have a difficult time working on a single display based desktop :)

What I find best is during a google search or while actually using it to earn a living.  For instance, while Googling, I end up with the google search results on the left screen, an IE window in the center for the page I'm current digging thru, and finally a third IE window on the right monitor to look at links from the web page in the center window.

Its also usefull while writing coad..  I'll have the source code running in center window, actual program running in left window, and the debug / local variables in the right window.

Here's a picture of how I have it setup:

BTW, the image is a picture of the Orion Nebula I took a while ago.

BTW2,  I have the room and hardware to add a fourth monitor, but where to put it, and I don't think my HVAC could keep up :)

Here’s a hint for some of you, toss a bunch of seldom used like shortcuts and Icons into a desktop folder.  It will work like a browser’s “Favorites” folder.
I have one for games, one for tools and one for repair (such as spyware removal programs).

I set up my desktops on both home PCs and my work PC the same way; programs on the left, places/folders on the right, current projects in the center.

:D

We purchased the house from a rather elderly couple that had lived in it for 30yrs!  So yea, 1974 sounds about right!

Can I interest you in an Avacodo toilet with matching bath tub?  How about a Harvest gold set of appliances?

He's right about the writing code part.

I had two monitors on my desk at one point in time and I found it soooo handy to be able to write or fix raw HTML in one window....save....than refresh my browser in the other window to see if I got the correct results.

Hey Beet, whats up with the double start bar?  I can't STAND when that crap isn't tidy and at one line ;)

Did anyone else notice?

Look at the lower right corner cluster, top row, left-most icon title.

You mean you don't have the goat sex simulator? I thought everyone did.

That's the best thing about these threads. Not the backgrounds, but the shortcuts speak volumes.

My home made toys won't fit on my computer desks :)  For instance

My 200x160 Binoculars

Or my Vacuum Coating Chamber (again home built)

Or the optical Polishing machine :)

Or the home built laser interferometer for testing optical surfaces

OOOOppps sorry for the thread hijacking :0

Who needs Icon shortcuts on the desktop? Note the Shortcuts and Favorites tabs ON the taskbar.

Btw, this is my system configured for an Aces High session.
Note the "Physical memory available" section. Also in the task manager I have only 12 processes + Aces High running when Im playing. THIS is how you get a low end system to run Aces High just fine. Cut out all the crap running in the background!

Any Dark Tower fans out there?

WAIT...everyone is missing something important...

Ripsnort has FOUR computers.  He just wanted everyone to know that.

The mystery that remains now is from which computer he will post a desktop picture.  Ohhhh, I'm all tingly from the suspense.

i got one computer connected to a router connected to another computer.  the router is connected to the intardnet.

i can transfer files from one computer to the other.

i'm a happy man.

would you like me to brag about the speeds or quantities of my computers?  would that make anyone worship or envy me?
