U.S. flu vaccine supply cut in half
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Americans' supply of flu vaccine was cut in half Tuesday as Britain abruptly shut down a major supplier just as flu season is about to begin. Facing a record shortage, U.S. health officials scrambled to reserve remaining shots for the elderly and others at highest risk from influenza.

This is NOT a good situation.

We should get our flu vaccines from China.  You can bet the government there would never shut down the manufacturer because of sanitation concerns.

The son of a client of mine was given a vaccination when he was a small boy.  He was given a bad batch.  He is now seriously brain damaged.

If there is ANY concern about bad vaccines the manufacturing and distribution must end immediatley.

No need to get flu shots unless your an infant (some qualify here) or over 65.  Your immune system shouldn't need help, and I've heard rumor that you may weaken your immune system should you introduce articifial help.

Well, you should check your sources then. Most vaccinations - especially the active Influenza vaccination - are no "artificial help" but contain parts or or even complete viruses. Those antigens stimulate your own immune system so by the time the real virus breaches your outter defenses you're ready for it!

Influenza has been a major killer in the  history of men. Every 80years (I think) we see a major epidemie. It's a shame that seldom diseases like SARS, Anthrax or even pocks get overdramatasized while we see thousands of casualties by Influenza every year.

It's true the population at risk are children and older people. But also people with heart or lung diseases, people with diabetes or liver problems. Also do not only think about yourself -  people who are in constant contact with other, maybe weakend patients, put them at risk also. That's why medical personal, public servicers etc. should be vaccinated as well. And last but not least a high vaccination rate will have a good impact on economy for causing less off days due to sickness.

Vaccines aren't an all-cure-wonder but help holding dangerous diseases at bay. Of course there can be complications -  as with all medication. But would you deny yourself anti-biotics in case of a life threatening pneumonia only because there have been reports of allergic reaction or death after ab-injection?

I was talked into getting a flu vaccine last year because it was supposedly a pandemic. I had the flu the previous year, wasn't too bad.

I felt tired after getting the shot, and really worn out the next day. Day three, I had full blown flu and felt like ****.

Won't trick my bellybutton again.

I prefer getting the flu and be done with it. Thats the way its supposed to be. If you have a weak immune system because you are already sick then its ok. I remember they gave one to my mom and dad just after they removed half her lung because getting the flu during the recovery process would not be good at all. If i had lived in the same house i would have taken one too.

Amen!

If you want to help your body out... don't take medicine that masks symptons like runny nose or tempeture... both of those are efforts by your body to flush out the nasties or burn them off.
