If you use the rudder in the X35T, I recommend you remove the centering spring on it.. *IF* you are experiencing spiking problems. You will have to figure out where the center is (HT, can you help us with this one.. add a graphical display in cockpit so we know it's centered? if not, okay.) I removed it today after trying other thigns to keep my rudder from spiking and ultimatly getting the "don't move controls so fast" message.

I hope this helps you if you have the problem, sure did for me!

I just bought the saitek x36 combo recently, so have not had a problem yet.  If it comes up i'll keep that in mind, thanks.

Also, there is a graphical rudder display in the cockpits showing center, left and right rudder.

Are you using th analog version of the X36 or the USB version???  Have had no problems with either in AH.  Course the analog version is now collecting dust It is now for spare parts(analog version)

USB version. I'm not quite sure why, but it worked fine for several months then went outta whack. <shrug>

Didn't know that ballw as the rudder, thought it was to display how much your plane was leaning left or right. Thanks for the tip.

I think I would reload the Saitek software.  Check in windoze calibration to see if you are getting spiking.  I have had no spiking with the USB version and I have had mine since last Sept 1999, I think.  If you have another X35T(doesn't matter if analog or USB)
swap it out and see if that fixes the problem.  The output of the stick is converted to digital then to the puter so the input to the puter is an average of the analog output of the pots(I think this is correct).  I just don't understand how spiking could occur???!!!???

No clue what happened. I actually like the feel of not having the resistance on the rudder... I dunno just feels better. You can always try it to see if you like it.. At first it was a quick fix for the problem so I didn't have to wrack my brain late at night, turns out I love the feel of it now. Despite it not recentering on it's own, it's quite nice. Forces me to have my hand on the throttle when I move around the rudder.. keeps me more alert. ;-)
