i have a logitech extreme pro 3d.  sadly, i hate it.  i had been really looking forward to having twist rudder capability.

so far i have found it to be sluggish.  unresponsive.  godawful in a pinch.  i have yet to land a decent amount of kills with it and find that i have a very hard time evading other planes due to its unresponsive nature.

as a relative newcomer, i only have two sticks...

a cheapo cytek cyborg and the logitech.

the logitech has become my backup.

the cyborg works much better.

One other thing you can do that seems to help me with mine when I have to use it.  DONT use the Logitech software!!!!!!  The PC usually recognizes the stick just fine, and even if it doesnt just put the CD in the drive and tell it to find the driver there.  Dont install the interface software.  I also noticed that when my Logitechs got too out of hand (this was in Win98), uninstalling all the software, cleaning my registry of all entries relating to Logitech and then rebooting and reinstalling just basic drivers got me back up and running.  Logitech explained this as saying that the Registry entries can get corrupted.  I think its their products that are corrupt personally, but thats just my opinion.  

For online purchase options on the CH sticks, you can go to their website, I believe Best Buy sells them online, and so does CompUSA (or they used to).  And no they dont sell a twisty stick.  You have to buy the stick and the pedals.  Much better control though, IMHO, and worth every penny.

Go to Comp USA. I got a Thrushmaster Top Gun Fox 2 Pro USB. Its a twisty stick with 3 buttons on the base, 4 buttons on the handle, thumb slider for throttle. 8 way hat. The only thing I dont like about it is the wiring for the throttle, it moves and breaks the solder connect. Every now and then i spray the pots (pentimeters or whatever they are now) and its working fine again. I picked it up for about $30.

Potentiometer (Variable Resistor). is the term your looking for.

I think he sprays them with Tuner Cleaner Anton.

I have a Saitek X45 Hotas
setup.. and I love it.. can't fly with out it.
Lots of buttons and switches to calibrate and assign in lieu of the keyboard.

The only other setup I would consider is the CH- Pro Hotas .

While mine is not a twisty stick because you have your rudder and throttle assemble seperate from your stick.

Try it... you will love it.:aok

yeah ive eyeball that thing a bunch before but i think it imtimidates me with all of the hattricks and buttons

I got CH stick+pedals,for 8-9 months , i can't belive they still work fine, i can't destroy them.
        I'm 250lbs dweeb, big ''lumberjack'' hands ,when the game went bad and i was psst off ,I used to crash 2 -3 cheap sticks/month ,
      My wife is woried now , she think the floor is going to give up b4 the pedals
