I like bombers for 3 reasons.
1) It takes awhile. I'll agree with mechanic completely on his approach to bombing. I enjoy being able to take off from the rear lines, go have a cigarette, make a sandwitch, and grab a drink while climbing to 15 or 20k.
2) Magnitudes of firepower. 3 B-17s w/ 6 1000 pound bombs = 6 porked hangers per run on a good day. Furthermore; with 3 B-17s in formation, an enemy approaching from 6 high directly behind the lead plane is subject to 3 tailguns, 3 top turrets, & 2 waist gunners. That's 14 .50cals. It really reinforces the importance of keep your drones there and making sure to preserve them. Concentrated firepower is your friend. The math proves it.
3) The enemy fighters always come to me. I don't have to go look for them, setup angles, manage E.. it's just a smile & wall of .50cal.
