Summer Storm point of interest
« on: October 07, 2004, 02:31:48 PM »
This was the first time in FSO that I've seen extensive use of the Yak-9T in its traditional fighter role. I believe that the results speak for themselves.

In 2 out of three frames, the Yak-9s had a higher K/D than the La-5, and in the two frames I was fortunate enough to fly one, they acquited themselves nicely against the 109G-6.

I'm very glad that COs chose to employ this fighter against enemy aircraft instead of sending them to their deaths in ground attack raids. I can't wait until the next chance I get to fly one in FSO!
