this is sort of an interesting one .. (may or may not be in the type of art your after ) just thought id toss it up as a referance point .. there is so much variance in art forms .

Also check the gallery websites ive found lots of really cool art displays on those .

Thanks for the insight -dead-  I have a memory from my childhood in Japan involving very scary "witches" maybe that is not what they are called. (It's been over 25+ years now...). I remember very fair faced wimin hanging out in the woods with flying fires, speaking stones and such... very spooky. I wish I could remember how they were called.

Have seen most of Miyazaki's animes and find them amazing (Princess Mononoke especially). I found out that very little animes are exported out from Japan, a pity realy... as there is much more to it than "Ken" or "Cobra" like stories.

Stories are always good if they start with a "Mukashi Mukashi..." :)

PS to Straffo: QUAH!
Hmm scary fair women in the woods sounds a bit like the Chinese Fox Spirits who run about tricking people and generally being wicked and scary and doing it while looking like beautiful women. http://history.sfogs.com/huxian.htm

Here's a pic from google images search with "kitsune". Beware: you are straying near the land of the furries with this ;)

-dead- "Kitsune"... sounds familliar, I think that's what I am looking for. (Amazing picture btw...). Cfr the Chinese ladies, I remember seeing "Chinese Ghost stories" and I liked that too... but this one I'm thinking is Japanese.

Roo, that looks sweet ... digging in those sites  :)

Tac: Ooops! :lol
