How to land the Hawker Typhoon on a carrier
« on: October 15, 2004, 01:46:52 AM »
I don't mean to be repetitive as some of this will sound similar to my tutorial on landing the P38 but for the sake of those interested in flying the Typhoon, I figured I'd post this from the Nomad files.

As some know my AW CPID was originally Tiffi because of the Typhoon.  I thought it was kind of cool as I was an RAF fan and folks would know what a Tiffie is right?

Instead I spent about two years explaining to the overly hormonal and undersexed types sitting in front of their computers that I was in fact not Tiffany, while telling them what a Typhoon was.  But that's beside the point.

So without further comment, my first flight in an AH2 Tiffie resulting in how to land a Typhoon on a carrier Nomad style.  Actually got credit for the four kills too :)

In the end you should be thankful for those players like us who switch to try and help keep things even because our willingness to do so, helps a more selfish, I want it my way player, get to fly his latewar uber ride.

About a week ago I screwed up a CV landing and fell through the deck inside the CV missing wings and stuff and the chat box told me bluntly that I'd be refueled and rearmed in 30 sec. Got a successfull landing though!

Now land a bomber, rearm, and takeoff again.

I've landed a Ju-88 on a CV, and I think I even landed an Ar-234 once.

Octavius landed a 262 on a CV.

Just don't flare the landing; bang it onto the deck.

guppy you should do an AH tutorial, with such wonderful lessons as:-

'How to take off'
'completing a circuit'
'divebombing'

etc etc.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.
