Taking Command of a CV
« on: October 11, 2004, 01:05:32 PM »
I've noticed several time now that someone will take command of a CV and their ID will not be listed as haveing taken command.
Is this a bug?

Anyone can move a CV without taking command. Taking command just prevents anyone below your rank from moving it.

No I think he means taking command. I have seen this many many time. No one is listed as in command yet wp's can not be set. Nor is the take command button avalible as when a higher ranking player has controll.

That is exactly what I mean ICEMAW.  If you ask who has command and someone will answer saying they do, but thier ID is not listed as being in command.  You can't change wayPoints or trun the ship.  If that player has forgotten he has command or in most cases (lost interest in the CV but forgot to give up command) you can't do anything to try to save the CV if bombers show up.  I've seen CV's tied up for hours until the player who has command of the TF logs or the CV is sunk.

Today, WMlute had taken command of a CV, but his ID was not listed as having command, but when asked "who has command of Cxxx" he responded he did, yet, he was never listed as having command in the list box.

CV Command

It's happening again, someone or several people have taken command of 4 carrier groups  183, 193, 199 and 200.  Even though command of each group belongs to someone, that's persons ID is not listed as having command.  This must be a bug.  How can someone click on the Take Command button and hot have their ID listed?

Long time bug/feature in AH.  If the command was taken before you logged on, the player with command will not be listed.

That must be it.  I also had this happen many times, and I think Zanth has nailed it.  I would see nobody in charge of cv, and just try and adjust it course w/o takin' it over, only to have nothing happen.
