You did bring up the unrelated thread subject of Laura Bush's accident Horn. It was much less of a leap to mention Ted Kennedy's around the same period and contrast them. Here's my take just in case you missed it:

Laura Bush - Current mate to the President
17 years old, ran a stop sign, caused an accident resulting in the death of a schoolmate. No attempt to run away or shirk responsibility.

Ted Kennedy - Current senatorial mate to Presidential cadidate
26 years years old, drinking, runs off a bridge and runs away leaving his passenger to drown,  Owns up to responsibility? Not in a million years.

I see. And all along I thought this was a thread about the traits of Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Kerry. So Laura Bush's accident would be unrelated? Oh, pardon me, I had no idea Kennedy and what he did or din't do was pertinent. :rolleyes:

I like to call it the 'yabut' defense. My kids used to do it all the time before they matured too.

For example -

You need to clean your room!

Yabut mary's room is dirty too!

or

You need to get better grades!

Yabut Joe's grades suck!

or

You used to be a drunk!

If you were to take the time to go back and read it wasn't Horn who brought up the accident exactly. He just clarified the statement of another poster. So the shack was in reference to his response to your response to his clarification... got it?
