Thats all we need!

A bunch of little Mini err I mean Moderators running about blowing their whistles at any and everything they dont like or deem acceptable.

Trust me, this is the last freakin thing this BB needs.

We dont need it.

Its foolish to waste time with crap like that. Take a look around you. 99.9% of what is writen here is based on opinions. Including my own regarding this BS.

The last thing we need are opinionated old men telling us what we can and cannot say.

Unless its Rod moderating. I'm use to him telling me how he likes things done.

Morpheus,

I'm not saying an idea or opinion moderator.  Everyone's entitled to both.  Still, obviously  some people cannot express either in a fairly civilized manner.  Sure, most start off that way, but eventually, it degrades.

The problem is, one of the HTC staff has to close the thread.  They do this as it is their set policy.  Threads that get out of hand will be closed.

My point is, I'd prefer to have HTC staff be freed from the chore of moderating these forums.  I'd prefer to have them working on the game.  The forums are getting moderated one way or another, don't burden HTC with the task.

"Its foolish to waste time with crap like that."

Allow me to twist your words: it is foolish.  It's foolish for HTC to have to waste time on crap like moderating.

Agree 100%

Mderation, like fertilizing, is generaly overdone.
Don't need obcnenty - and thats about it . Anything else is just plain communication, idiocy, posturing, chest beating etc. - all things proven by thousands of years of democracy, to not cause cancer or mental deficits.

It kinda crazy that many object to gun laws but not speech laws..

oh wait - no it isn't.

never saw problems in that other online sim, when the volunteer staff moderated it.........

I think Flossy can atest to this as well as many others!

you just need the level headed players that know what is acceptable and knows when someone has pushed it to far over the edge.............
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

LOL TC! :lol   Yeah, it certainly worked OK in AW, as did having 'visible' volunteer staff in the arenas.  I think it would certainly take the pressure off HTC who, as a much smaller company anyway, have better things to do with their precious time.  :)

Please no.

We live in such an over policed controlled world. Not in here too! Keep the board clean by all means but be carefull moderation doesn't become a way of controlling whose opinion gets heard. What about freedom of speech!?

How much you wanna bet that HTC would be flooded with e-mails complaining about the Moderators.
It's to sensative to be handled by the community---and it wouldn't carry the same weight as it does when someone from HTC steps in and slaps the odd keyboard finger.

Now the MA is a different story--we need more moderators
