So wait let me get this straight. He was busted by a housewife from Montana from her kitchen?  Good news but wait!

Where was Homeland security, the CIA, the FBI etc etc?  Surely this is precisely the kind of thing they are supposed to do? With all their resources it was a housewife from Montana that flushed out this guy.

That's crazy!

No, it`s called loving your country and taking part in it. All the law enforcement in the world can`t make a dent without the support and help of citizens.

You're missing the point. All credit to her but considering the resources supposedly available to all the agencies it still took one woman working alone to out him.  If she hadn't intervened right now that guy might well be in Iraq in a position to do real damage.
That is scary.

There's nothing say that Homeland Security didn't already have the infomation or related information from another source.

I would imagine those agencies are primarily focused on the larger aspects of more prominent and larger attack plans. Sometimes it just takes a small piece of cheese to catch a rat.

Homeland Security isn't the Gestapo contrary to the paranoia of many and they can't be everywhere at once. Sometimes criminals are caught by the luck of cops being at the right place at the right time. I'd advise anyone thinking on doing something similar to let their local law enforcement office know what you're up to ahead of time.

Sometimes its like when you play the game.
Often a lone wolf can more successfuly get in and carry out a mission when a group cant
Death is no easy answer
For those who wish to know
Ask those who have been before you
What fate the future holds
It ain't pretty
