JB it was ground aa that is more lethal to bombers at lower alts...( sorry I was not clear enough)..although manned 88's without proxy fuses could also suffice as written elsewhere.
What will all this do? Its all written elsewhere and not all my own thought.
However it would cause
Dive bombing would now be a function of only of those bombers which also carry attack status.
They would not have formations when in this mode.
They would not have external views when in this mode.
They would not have a precision bomb sight and would release from the pilots position.
Level bombing would not be able to drop in a dive because the F6 would quickly jerk the AC into level flight. (not perfect answer to stop dive bombing formations but an easy 1st step for HTC to make whilst considering release angle characturistics)
No external in f6 makes low level carpet bombing more difficult as the pilots is now flying with a much more resrticted view as he releases the bombs
More accurate AA agin Formations as they get lower penalises formations the lower they get. This is a RL trueism...low level carpet bombing from large formations regularly resulted in massive casualties from AA. It was the deterent and should be the one applied here.
We have a large raft of so called bombers which are in fact attack AC. This includes but not limited to Val, Il2m3, Stuka, SBD they would be given only the status of attackers as they carry no level bomb sight and should be allowed to dive bomb. No external views and release/fire from the cockpit. IL2's biggest handicap was its pilots views yet we can dog fight with them in F3!
An anomaly is the C47 ideally this should be given an F6 "jump" view and only able to release when level from that view as a bomber. But as it is now it could be allowed all its present tricks and lumped in with the attackers.
The TBM avengers and Kates would also be allowed formations. Disabling formations when spawning from the H spawn point would prevent them being used as a formation ac from CV's (cv's only have H spawns) but would allow them this role from land bases. This would also stop formations being lost when not spawned onto runways.
