John Edwards Commander In Cheif

OK....so setting ALL political bais here I stumbled apon a pretty sturring thought tonite thanks to Kevin Costner (SP?  Bad actor but seems like a good genuine person)

Anyhow, he was on the HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher (wich I actually enjoy beleive it or not)  so anyways Bill and the 2 other liberal panelists (Wes Clark and that guy from Law and Order that allways wears the sunglasses) were hammering Kevin because he's a Nader supporter.

What strikes me is the fact that they weren't bashing him because he beleives in Nader but because they feel he's helping Bush win.  Coster responded to the fact that he wants to vote on principles and that sometimes to acheive a goal you have to lose or realize a setback.

The statement that he made at the end of the show hit me like a ton of bricks.  He basically said if Kerry wins God help him and the demacrats that they don't go after him and find coercion on his (kerry's part) to help keep Nader off the ballot.  Wich I'm sure is against the law...if not very unethical.

NOW i'm not saying this has actually happend but I've heard things and it upsets me.  Not because it's kerry doing it, I'd be just as disapointed in Bush if he was keeping badnarik down, but because this is partisan politics at its worst and the country will suffer.

Imagine another scandle were its the republicans going after a demacrat president and limiting his political power to accomplish anything and American troops or security suffering.  I think even the more closer to center liberals on this board would agree with me on this that American needs better more/better choices in choosing our CIC.

Just a thaught

Unless he does something about that graying hair, Bill Mahar's career as a smug Hollywood liberal will soon come to rival Clear Diet Pepsi in terms of mass marketability.

I think he's hilarious.  I don't agree with his politics but The guy is funny to me at least.

Bill Mahar's problem is he doesn't seem genuine, not the ideology he spouts - same thing with Micheal Moore. On the other hand, as much as any may disagree with Nader, he is without a doubt, genuine.

Yup.....Even as a mostly conservative I have to agree that because of Monica Lewinsky Bill clinton did not have the "Clout" to launch a full scale attack after the african embasy bombings.

I fear if indiscretions are exposed of after the election we might be headed down the same path.

Costner really started rambling badly towards the end. I kept sitting there wishing he would STFU and let Wes Clark speak. I think he may be the next SecDef and some of the things he was saying about how the administration spun 9/11 at the Pentagon was very interesting.

Ya gotta give Mahr credit,  the "Dances with Facts" bit was pretty funny.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Yes but I did like what Costner had to say in the very end.  What did you think about his thaughts on Nader and the possability that some Demacrats may face the man for suppressing him on the ballots?

I don't put much stock in it. Third party candidates have traditionally faced obstacles from the major parties. Remember Alan Keyes and Ross Perot? Nothing much ever came from their accusations of tampering.
