Tips on turning the new p38l

I should clarify what I said...

Firstly, I turn inside spits and niks coz I do the pendulum thing and hardly ever a flat turn.  If I did, it would only be for 3/4 of a turn.  There's no doubt that making a flat turn against these two planes is bad news for the 38.  I explained further in the message what I do.

If I ever get into a flat turn, all I'm saying is that I use 1-2 notches of flaps and I guess hope for the best!..ie hope the other guy is a newby!    ..And I'd prefer to turn to the right if in a flat turn against most ACs in AH...I think you know why.

Against a good spit/nik pilot it'll be a tough fight - again no doubt about that.  But then a good spit/nik pilot wouldn't be doing a flat turn.

The 38 does pretty well against all ACs IMO - it turns pretty well, climbs good, good controls at speed...one of the best all rounders.

RE: using engine to help turn the 38

You have to be real gentle coz too much and the 38 snaps into a spin.  When that happens and you're not lucky, you will lose the fight.

Hey Citabria What speed you go full flaps or any other settings over 1? Those turns on my overshoot were tight. How did you do them?

Had the 38 up in the MA for a couple sorties late last night (my time)...eye and citabria both heard this then...but...I found biggest issue is E...to much or to little.

I ended up over enemy field with 3 cons below (spit,38,26)..took a good 2-3 min of positioning then went for bounce on the spit..I had a decent setup..but even with a loop and two flat turns over con at zero gas..the dang thing picked up to much E on decent...ended up about 180 out but nose down it couldn't get around on the spit's evasive (very nice dylo)..went vertical and she zoomed out quicker than I thought..once I made mistake of giving and rolling her over..inevitable plunge into prophanging dylo..ouch. Contolling e in that thing a big issue to me..feast or famine

HeHe!

Me also Citabria.  The darn things take soooooo long to deploy and the speed stays 2 mph to fast for sooooo long.

Reminds me of another game.  Chaff chaff chaff chaff chaff chaff chaff chaff chaff --> dang out of chaff 5 minutes ago.
