Ki <61> clips

Going thru cleaning up my AH2 clips before they get to far out of hand and found a few that might be useful....

Clip 1...."Bounce+1"

This is a basic fundementally correct (IMO) bounce...I'm always amazed at how poorly many of even the better sticks fly their bounces.  Couple things to notice...

1) speed & closure control....I'm totally of the gas initially...many guys/gals carry way to much speed (almost everywhere).

2) Control....Once I engage I never disengage...the "noose" tightens...

3) View management...I never lose sight of the con

4) Positional advantage....I never give the con E or angles back

5) Gunnery...I fire twice at close range and hit him both times

The single biggest rule in a good bounce is never get under your enemy...you'll notice I never even get totally down to his level until I actually saddle up...you'll also see the 2nd con come in and notice that I react and quicken the kill a bit to enable me to engage the F4F....who btw has to much speed and then compounds his mistake by taking a poor "top down" shot...

link should be good let me know if its not...

Clip 2

"romulian 38"...a tongue & cheek barb at the convienient "micro warp" right as I saddle up on his 6....

This is a classic "bouncee" clip...I'm in my Ki minding my own business when a High 38 bounces me. After suitable initial evasives I reaqquire him and he attacks again ... this time he's much more aggressive and we end up in a rolling scissors of some kind...I force him out front wing him and saddle up to have him hit warp drive...not sure if its on clip but while I'm pissing and moaning I get lit up...just a reminder that the game doesnt stop cause you get a bad break. Primary keys here...

1) views....38's always in site on main attack
2) speed control...I'm off the gas thru a lot of the fight. See, Identify and counter...my key here was slowing down and working the angles
3) bad tactics by 38...absoulutly a horribly flown attack profile...exactly what you dont want to do.

(in fairness we all fly dumb sometimes....sure theres a few hundred "Dumb humble" clips out there)

Clip 3

Ki.nikki.rev or somesuch....

This is a Nikk chasing me out from a semi capped field...I evaded a couple of attacks right off the runway nad he had to break away to avoid an auger...gave me time to build up some speed trim out etc...once we were far enough from field to give me a reasonable chance of a fight I rev back into him...

This a pretty classic "knife fight"...at least for me. Obviously the nikki is a better overall stall fighter but realistically unless you push things to the very edge you can fight any plane in the set vs any other reasonably well. Obviously if your going to rev like I did your going to take risks...he landed one snapshot that could of ruined my day...it came at the point where I went from defense to offense...basically grabbed enough angles at risk of the shot.
if you use external & tracking you should see alot of vertical in "my" fight. At the end I go vertical...in effect grabbing enough angles to beat him out of his turn and get a front quarter face shot in...not the best way to do it but seemed like a good idea at the time.

Clip 4

Ki61 vs la-7 on the deck....

Started clip as I was being bounced by an la-7....was a fun fight. Again even though I'm negative E I'm off gas as needed...whole fight seems like its under 500 ft but even so some decent use of the vertical...again at end I use vertical to gain angles to set up a front quarter face shot....

Glad there not a total waste of bandwidth:) ....never know whats worth posting.

Put the bounce up simply because I cant recall anyone ever puting up a simple see the con, engage the con, kill the con bounce...on the 2nd one thing I didnt point out is that I lost vis on 1st evasive...so I simply assume "he's there somewhere"....

As for the last two with the Ki-84 out alot of talk about various "uber" plane issues. Historically the nikki and lala seem to be the "big 2" in that regard. Basically everything I did in those two clips can be done in a P-40E/P47/P51/109G6/205/190A5. I'm always amazed at how inferior folks make some of these planes sound. I dont think that the stall horn goes off once in either of the last two clips...
