Well, my point was, I think I know a little of Ashcroft's agenda and realize it falls perfectly in line with "traditional values."
Hence my surprise that he is not defended more in the OC.

Ashcroft is excessively religious to the point where it likely affects his performance of his job.   Hence I distrust him and his motives.  I do not equate religion with morality or "traditional values".
