first line is his rank and name...Joseph Hampton  (you knew that)
the second is his particular unit.. he is in a transportation unit
third is the major postal unit that his mail will be sorted and sent to where ever he is (APO= army post office.. AE= army europe)

all the mail will go to germany. that is the major mail hub for all of europe / middle east (except england).. so, all mail that you send will go the same exact course.. goes civilian trans from you to new york, then to germany via Air Force, then to the final destination via Air Force..

do not express mail anything, you will be wasting your money. if you choose to you will be paying for express delivery to new york only. once its there they repack all the mail and then the Air Force takes over. if there isnt enough mail on the plane, they will wait until there is. so mail can take anywhere from 14 days to 2 months.. i got a christmas card for easter last year when i was in Iraq.  :aok

Geez, BGB.

What's this, like the 4th soldier you adopted?

I remember sending all those care packages to the navy for you last year.

I'd like to join this program too, but funds are a little tight with the new baby.

Anyway, to you, Chronic.

I'd sign up but I but they won't let me request to get a Marine specifically  ;)

Actually we're doing a collection thing at work.  Right next to our Food shelter can food drive and toys for tots box we have one collect small gift items for the troops.

I went to sam's (a whole sale place for those who don't know) and baught a HUGE box of baby wipes, a bunch of axe deoderant, foot powder, ect.

What these guys really need is PORN and lot's of it.  I wonder if I sent a CD-rom of stuff they'd be able to look at it?  :aok

I've got a pair of jarheads: cousin in Afghan.  brother on his 2nd tour of Iraq. I tried to burn some "entertainment" on a cd but encoding(to play in a dvd player) takes forever. You can just burn the data but it'll have to be watched on a computer.
