Capt. Donovan Smith P47-D25

Hi Gents
Here's the latest P47-D25 i've completed.

This plane was flown by Capt. Donovan Smith of the 56th Fighter Group, 61st Fighter Squadron in August of '44. The 56th airfield was based at Boxted, England at this time.
The most notible features of this plane were the removal of the invasion strips on the upper side of the wings and fuse. The Dark and light sea grey disruptive pattern on upper sufaces, then the Azure blue coloring of the fuse bottom. This was the only p47 at Boxted to have the black code letters outlined in white.

I had to take a little artistic liberty with the color of the canopy and the wing root again due to the 3d modeling. But I hope this is a good compromise given the challanges of making the camo work overall.

Please let me know your thoughts :)

Very good! I like the gray scheme.  Also, the red on the cowling is much better than it has been previously, much more weathered and faded.  Excellent work!

Gorgeous.

The "HVS" lettering doesn't seem to blend as well as the rest of the markings, or is that just an artifact of the screenshot?

The lettering "blending" is a effect of the JPG picture format and the angle of the shot. It looks much better when looking at it from the side while flying.
As for when the skin will make it into the game, it usually takes the HT support team a month or so to get back to me with a confirmation email. I don't expect it to out in the next round of skin releases, maybe the one after, we'll see though.
