Though... it's about the 5th time I've seen the question asked when the subject of ashcroft came up. Is it so hard to believe that people don't have to like absolutely everyone in an administration?

There's very little defendable about ashcroft's performance. I do find it funny when people try to pin the Freedom Act on him. He abused the hell out of it... once it passed... overwhelmingly... almost unanimously.

But just ask tweety... it's all bush's fault for not vetoing something that every other politician was afraid to say no to.

Thats a good point, since people are so very very quick to call Ashcroft a nazi id just looove to hear their opinion of an Attorney General who had her snipers and agents shoot a woman in the head at Ruby Ridge and burn many other Americans to death at Waco aftere storming their home, err I mean "compound" with Bradly fighting vehicles and bulldozer equpped main battle tanks...

I do not align the Republican party with the Nazis as some Democrats do.

I do however view the Patirot Act And John Ashcrofts implementation of it as something more akin to people in organisations like the Gestapo or KGB or perhaps Mcarthy supporters would agree with.
Those or the cowardly or extremely paranoid.

To THOSE people be they Republican,Democrat or independant, Ashcroft would be a hero.

but just to play devils advocate for a moment, one might point out that 3.5 million votes in todays election is a pretty slim margin.
