FW 190D9 FM bug
« on: November 12, 2004, 02:24:21 PM »
lost my left flap in combat to a ki84, and after that flap was damaged, the flap indicator kept showing 1 notch delpoyed, no matter what speed.

also an unfortunate side effect: the plane when not on auto pilot kept rolling over to the right drastically. combat trim was on.

here is a film:

rather odd that the flap being destroyed, that the wing on that side would give more lift. when slow enough deplying the right flap helped stabilize the plane, when shouldnt it flop over left then?

oh well, hope this helps.

I don't know what to put here yet.

JB73,

I have had same thing happen on 38.  However, I don't think it's a bug.  When it shows flap damage, it doesn't necessarily mean you lost the flap.  The flap could be damaged and jammed into position.  To even the plane up, just increment other flap to the same position.  Of course this will slow your plane up.  Best to RTB as soon as possible for repairs.  Hope this helps
