Salute to the Ace
« on: November 12, 2004, 11:35:55 PM »

Another of WW2 airmen has passed away...
Stanislaw Skalski was one of the finest fighter pilots of this war and is classified as no.1 in Polish WW2 aces list. He flew from the first hours of Polish campaign where he became the first allied ace of WW2, fought in battle of Britain and North African campaign then led several Polish and British fighter units to combat over skies of occupied Europe. His final score stands for 21 confirmed kills, 2 propables and 5 damaged.
Great, humble man and magnificent pilot.

Sorry to hear it Ramzey, but thank you for passing it on.

Thankfully he's not a forgotten hero.

Squadron Leader Stanislaw Skalski.

Thanks for standing up against tyranny when the choice was given to you.
