FW190 guns in the new FM

I fly the 190A8 with the 4 20mm cannons.

It seems to me that in the new patch they are just a bit more effective.  That is do more damage quickly.  Not much, but a slightly noticable improvement.

Is this just me or have others noted it also??

I sure hope they get around to looking at the FW190 again, I think it was better than modeled in AH2, espcially in the area of acceleration in a dive ????

Hopefully Pyro will model the FW-190A8 with the wide chord wooden prop.

It is not as fast in top level speed as the 9.8 cm metal prop but it greatly improved the climb, turn, and level accelleration of the FW-190A8.

Pyro has the charts on it.

I have noticed that too. I usually fly A5 or A8 with only two cannons as they nowadays seem to be enough for furballing with fighters.

The so called 'paddle blade' props, Allied and Axis, had that result.

Crumpp, a 98mm (3.86 inch) prop diameter? ;)

Which prop had the 3.3m (10'10") diameter? VDM9-120, VDM9-16176A or VDM9-12157H3

9.8 cm metal

Blade width Milo, Blade Width.....

Hence the addition of the word WIDE as opposed to diameter.

As I have said Crumpp, hopefully you will get a professional writer for your book.:)

You did not have 'wide' included. :)

Duhhh, jealous Tank was trying to copy the Spitfire wing into his blade design    :D :D :D

Anyway, seriously,a propeller blade is basically a wing.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

You have any?:)

Now answer the other question as to which was the paddle blade model since you got the knot out of your knickers.:)

My list by part number is off being translated at the moment.  I only copied the efficiency plots and performance graphs for Pyro.

Off the top of my head it looks like:

VMD9-120 - Hub (interchangeable with different blades)  The FW-190A had several different hubs over it's lifetime of varying diameter.

VDM9-16176A - Metal Blade

VDM9-12157H3 - Wooden blade

AFAIK both were 3.3m diameter on the FW-190A.  The Dora had a 3.5m prop.

Again, this report is in Australia being translated and this is from memory.
