I am looking for one that does fax, scan, copy, and will still print quality pics.  I have heard that some of the all in one's don't do a good job on the pics.  Anyone have any personal experience.  Would like to stay below $300.

Medic, I own a  HP OfficeJet K80 and it works great.  It comes w/ some nifty software for it too.  you know... fax and print logs, built in address book , scan software... stuff like that.

It's a couple of years old so it probably has a successor in the HP line by now.  I recommend it

We've got one at the shop. It's JUNK. That damned thing cleaned itself until it ran the ink dry. The software is slow as molasses in January. Never again.

What model is it? The later models that I have read reviews about sounds great.

Btw Medicboy, I think the cheapest Brother with laser printer is within your budget if that is of interest.

I bought two Brother MFC-3220Cs, and we're happy with them.  Bought one for the restaurant, liked it, bought one for home.

A few months ago, someone broke into the restaurant and stole some stuff including the printer, so now I'm looking on the eBay for another of the same model.

One problem, it's a real jerk about ink.  Run the Magenta tank dry, and it won't let you print things, even if all you want to print is black for example.

I have a brother 3220C and am less than thrilled with it. It does print well. I have not used it for photo's yet but plain printing is fine.  The scanning software is less than user friendly. I haven't gotten it to work right the first time yet.

Before you set your mind on one...check ink prices.

Couple reviews I read gave the nod to Epson over HP based on the fact the HP inks are vastly more expensive which in turn makes it more expensive to operate per sheet, yada yada.

I have an officejet K60xi...works great!  I do a lot of printing and make a lot of copies with it.  Fax seems to come through clear on the other end and have had no problems with it in...4-5 years?

Try a Lexmark 5200 series.  Speedy printing, adequate copying/scanning capabilities and you also get GayAnnouncer2.0 that tells you when you've started printing, lisp and all.:lol
