Nice try but no cigar. Yes, Croatia welcomed the german invasion in April 1941 because of the generally good memories of the old austro hungarian empire days and our people hoped that the germans would free us from a yugoslavia we felt was  too dominiated by the serbs.  The initial resistance was indeed by socialist anti fascists and the communists but when germany started carving up our country and giving it to the italians and bringing in the loony ustashe exiles like pavelich from italy to run the country a much wider group of people from all political viewpoints started to resist out of pure nationalist interest - I'd be one of them.

I have a question for you, do you prefer that Chile went towards the communist opression and to act as a base for communism in south america during the cold war?
