What's red and has seven dents in it?

Snow White's cherry.

Dunno about more PC but it would be more modern to rename it Little Boy Blue and the Seven Little Men. ;)
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

ROFL Dago!

Yep, some children's books have been banned here - even the somewhat innocuous Enid Blyton books - because of references to "Golliwogs". Even the children's nursery rhyme, "Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie" came in for some stick. To make it completely PC, it would have to be something like "four and twenty green birds of mixed racial origin, baked in a pie".

Ever hear Ian Dury's "Hit me with your rhythm stick"? One line is "Hit me with your rhythm stick, two fat ladies click-click-click". This had to be sanitised for the radio. The word "persons" was dubbed over "ladies".

What next....

Dwarves are real ? What about goblins, gnomes and elves, should we still call them that? I don't want to offend any mythological creatures.

I think it has more to do with the shrill screeching of "sensitive" liberals who would rather watermelon in thier own hat then risk offending someone.  But, that is just my angry opinion.

quite a few years back I got roped into chaperoning a field trip for one of my daughters.  on the way to our destination the kids start singing '99 bottles of beer'.  this smug little teacher gets up and tells the kids that they have to sing "99 bottles of root-beer".

she was so full of herself and proud as she sat down, confident that she had somehow saved this bus load of kids from joining the Nazi party, ending up on skid-row, or whatever boogie man is waiting around the corner for those who don't play the PC game.

I've kinda got a look of nausea/stunned disbelief going on as she turns to me and says "people would be offended to hear kids this age singing about alcohol."

"you think?  personally I'm much more offended by people who bastardize harmless traditions for no other reason than political correctness and a little rush of self-righteousness"  was all I could really think of as a response.

the wheels on the bus song must be altered, as it is discrimatory to vehicles that move with treads or skids.

i suggest

"the locomotive friction points on the people moving vehicle make us move move move"

I tend to use the opposite philosophy from PC-speak.  I've found it a good rule of thumb that if what you have to say doesn't piss someone off, then it probably doesn't even need to be said.

Have you heard the amusing anecdot concerning the altitudinally challenged Native American person of the distaff gender from the far North who fell in love with the unipedinally handicapped, capitalistic exploiter of non-human beings of the equine persuasion?

It's a real hoot!
