Channel 1??
« on: November 10, 2004, 04:33:43 PM »
I have onboard Intel graphics and although the game is perfectly playable there are a few issues. I'm not really concerned with correcting these issues as I will be getting a new vid card soon anyway but I want to list them for you anyway cuz there are 2 things that I wonder if my card is responsible for or not.
I have no "lines" of any kind...no lines for setting convergence in the hanger, no zone lines, no spawn lines, no fleet route lines, no radar circles, no net status lines, I do have spawn arrows and fleet arrows and convergence distance however, just no lines. I've tried different detail and resolution settings with no improvement. I'm fairly sure these must be vid card compatibility issues.
What I really want to know about is this...I have lots of trouble locating cons, much more so than in AH1, I can't seem to see them as far away and when I do see them they seem to pop in and out of view alot. Is this also a vid card issue or is it an intentional change in visibility in AH2?
Also, channel 1. I have no channel 1, it is not squelched but I never see any chat on chan 1. I don't miss it one bit but I am wondering if it is a problem on my end or not. All I ever see it " so-and-so" on channel 1. This leads me to wonder if chan 1 communication has been abolished altogether?....hehehe I wish
Chuck.

yes, ch1 has basically been abolished in that you can only send salutes  /.salute  (i think).

the rationale behind this is that noobs and htose who didn't like what they saw on ch1 are no longer automatically exposed.

instead, an alternative channel, ch200 is used in place of ch1 for general "all" comms.  this means *you* have to tune your radio to ch200.

while ch200 is still moderated for language (auto filter) and abuse (via occasional moderators) people can longer whine about "ch1" since ch200 is entirely voluntary.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.

Anvil, setting convergence depends on the plane you are flying.  Some planes cant set convergence.  As for the "lines" you are missing on the map, just right click on the map and the options show up for you to choose.

Hope this helps.

Star, I know how to turn on all the map options, just the arrows turn on, no lines. I'm really not too worried, gonna get a new vid card one of these days anyway. Thanks for the help

easy fix re. the spawn point lines etc.  when you 1st launch AH, click the Video button, and make sure Harware Vertex proc. box is CHECKED.

Had the same issue
