I dove into the column of Panzers, blazing away..
« on: February 03, 2000, 10:17:00 AM »
As I flew from F1 to the captured  enemy base of F21, I noted that our boys were on the surrounding hills in their panzers, lobbing shells into the aircraft attempting to take off from F21, some bursts found their mark, but were not effective since they only had enough fuel to get within 12 miles of the airfield.  Other panzers were concentrating on the ack and surrounding strutures.  Just then, a swarm of enemy F4U-1C's came streaming in on the column, blazing away. I knew our boys were in trouble,the anti-aircraft vehicles fired away at the incoming aircraft, some were findng their marks as F4U's started smoking.   I popped my tank, and dove in on the F4U's, careful not to get in the way of the overspray from the vehicles  below ....I glanced to my left and saw...ENEMY C47'S TOWING GLIDERS!! Oh my God, our boys were about to get some unwanted company by enemy artillery that was about to be landed near their position, the situation looks dim...

Then I woke up, and realized what the future may bring us, and realized how rich HTC and Co. will be.  HiTech said "Yes" to my question of vehicles, I know better than to ask "When"

"Ground controller to Typhoon Blue Flight, Enemy advancing our positon on road west of Cologne..."

Westy: "Inbound. eta 1 minute ground control!"  "Blue Flight! Arm em and lets rip em a new one!

<continued>

I begin my dive onto the armor column in my F4U-1C from about 5K and weave my way between the Flak Panzers bursts slowly lining up the lead Panzer in my sights.  I hold my breath as I pull the trigger and as soon as I do, the Panzer disappears from the screen and warps 1 KM west away from the field.  As I grit my teeth in frustration, a message box pops up "Host Connection Lost"

Oh well.
