The first one was more along the lines of Sci-Fi, considering the location, the weapons you had access to, and the aliens.

THe second one is more futuristic, considering the technologiy, the weapons, and the aliens...even though the game takes plce 10 years after Black Mesa, making it around 2006 or so.
