What do you mean by confirmations?   I've gotten what I would call 'confirmations' on my skins, where HTC acknowledges receipt of the skin and a reference number is assigned.

But, what I'm anxiously waiting for is 'approvals' where I am told the skin looks good and is slated to go into the game.

Is that what you guys are getting?

Also, any idea why HTC batches up so many skins before release?   As I understand it, the skin release would work just as well with smaller but more frequent custom skin releases.

This particular backlog occurred due to the effort to get 2.01 out the door.

Skin releases will start occurring more frequently.  The goal is to release a batch once each week.

We still have a rather large backlog, so if your skin did not get in this batch, it could be the next batch.

By confirmation I mean it said it would be in the game, should have said approval, sorry.

Earlier on when Pyro loaded new patch he said some would be released tomorrow (Friday).

Spit 9 - High Alt Flight Emmanuel Galitzia
Spit 9 - SEAC Robert Boyd

Skuzzy, you're awesome - thanks for keeping us updated!

I have a couple questions about how the custom skins work.   AFAIK, the P-51D skins have reached the limit - but what happens if somebody submits an absolutely perfect and much needed P-51D skin- is there a facility to replace ingame skins with new skins?  Same thing for somebody who re-does or corrects a flaw in an ingame skin- can it be replaced?

Also - how does it work when brand new players download and join the game?   Will they be receiving .res file updates for a long period of time as they catch up on all the skins?   Or are the approved/released skins built into the download exe, so they will be caught up already?

Thanks,

Thanks,

We currently have 22 P51D skins on file.  Our plan is to periodically rotate them out.  Unless the skins is rather unique, we probably will not even consider another P51D skin.  Very unique skins are what we would like to see.  Unique in terms of looks.

When a new player logs in, they download all the skins that have been put on the server.  However, if they purchase the CD, they get all the skins that have been released on the CD installation.
We are also looking to put up a skin pack on the downloads page to allow yet another way to get the skins.
