Separating troops and supplies
« on: November 18, 2004, 05:44:08 AM »
I realise that we use the same vehicles and ac to deliver troops and supplies.................

But why do we use the same field objects.................

What about "stores" objects for supplies and "barrack" objects for troops?

Every field seems to have a large wharehouse type object (presently unused) which could become a "stores"

or could we make stores always available so long as any type of hanger was available and keep barracks just for troops?

This may cause a problem with the "chalk board" in the tower one way may be to have 4 statuses for the troops and supplies cell in the chalk board.

enabled

troops only

supplies only

Think of it as a package deal... you need troops to load the supplies and then "distribute" them at the field you are delivering to... No troops, who is going to do the repairs?

I dont need troops to get me a new plane or vehicle

I dont need troops to load fuel

I dont need troops to load ordinance

Why do I need them to load supplies (field or vehicle)

I dont need troops (now) at the field I drop supplies at for them to be effective.

If I want to limit barracks regen  I bomb country grunt facilities

Why should barracks be linked with supplies?

If barracks represent field personnel then everything should suffer when barracks are hit.......(lousey game play)

If barracks are infantry used to attack and capture then they are just that. They are not  material.

I was suggesting that if they were separately attritional then repair and capture functions may not be so inseparably linked or so inseparably porked.

Yes please seperate the supplies. The thought af keeping all those vehicle and airfield supplies in those pup tents is just plain silly. :D
