sorry, I shouldnt be messing around but...
« on: November 06, 2004, 05:43:00 AM »
I messed my scores!  Not intentional, I am sorry.  Here is my story...

First take a look at my score:

=====
00:05:27 ------ Shot Down A Ki-67 Piloted By righty.

00:06:42 ------ Destroyed Gun emplacement At Field #37.

00:07:58 ------ Arrived Safely At Field #37

22:34:14 ------ Departs From Field #9 in a N1K2-J

23:20:12 ------ Captured By Enemy Forces.

23:20:43 ------ Departs From Field #9 in a Gunner-Observer

Pilot Totals: Kills 1; Assists 0; Objects 1; Deaths 0.
=====

I was flying for IJN, and A37 happens to be a friendly field.  Log begins at 22:34 and ends at 00:07.  No big deal with the sort problem...

So, I up an N1K2-J.  In the melee of the fight with the F6Fs, I pull too much Gs and rip me wing.  And end up as MIA 45 minutes into the frame.  So, I join Filth as gunner on his Ki67.  And we refuel at A37.  All this is fine.

So, he decides to dive bomb his Ki67, and in the process he lawn darts into the enemy field.  I end up as gunner in the 2nd bomber that is still sitting on the runway at A37.  I see nobody else on the runway and decide to shoot at stuff around me.  I see hit sprites on the Ack I am shooting at but it doesn't explode.  So, I figure, protect friendly objects are enabled.  So, I keep on shooting stuff around include the ack that I was shooting up.  For some reason, after consuming a lot of 20mms the ack gives way and explodes!  In my mind, a big "Uh oh..." springs up.

Now the log comes up and says that I also shot a friendly Ki67??  Where did that come from!

I shouldnt be messing around in the SEA but... these shouldnt be counted as scores!

:) Np. Thanks for the heads up.

Any kill is recorded, does not matter who side they were on. Someone brought this up a not long ago.

I pointed it out to Gremlin who deals with the logs for the CM's. Real life is in the way till he can have a chance to work around giving kills even if they are from the same country.

I suggested he have a page with a list of those who killed their own countrymen each frame of Squad Ops. A court martial page if you wish. Would be good for a laugh and remind those not to spray the sky and that killshooter is off. :)

LOL

I remember a squad ( a couple of years ago) had a fellow who launched all his rockets on the runway. Killed about 6 guys. He was looking pretty good on the score sheets. ;)
