Thanks for the link Silent (I think - wasn't sure about the use of the winky face)!!

Just a reminder for those making comparisons, that the Virtual Blue Angels made that movie over 7 months ago at a time when people were having trouble just joining up in formation with 2 jets, let alone flying 4 jets in formation.

The Virtual Blues 2nd movie is one the way, hopefully before the New Year :aok

In the other, twelve arrows for his enemies

I don't have to many problems running Lock-On either.  I am running at 1600x1200x32.  I get a couple hiccups once and a while but nothing worse than AH2.  Actually Lock-On sometimes runs smoother than AH2.  I have 3.2 Pent, 2.0G ram, Ati 256mb 9800xt. I am thinking about starting a squad on Hyperlobby, 325th Fighter Wing.

Solas, you know where the in game render is in Lomac?

Great Movie Silent, I hope one day to get the hang of Vegas like you do.

Hey, fellow-AH pilots...

Have you guys tried to replicate some of the moves that are in the Thunderbirds movie, yet?

I tested myself on a few maneuvers offline yesterday morning, & failed.  Lol.  :)  I simply tried to hold the nose straight while making 4 or 5 high-speed aileron rolls.  I was hoping to come out of the last roll in the same direction, but, by the 3rd roll, I was flying about 30 degrees off course.  hahaha

After trying a few moves & then watching the film again, I realized that these TBirds are actually much better than I had realized.  i.e.: high-speed zoom climb with aileron roll...stopping the roll with the tail lined up on the runway centerline.   - how?!?

Anyone else tried anything?

Practice, practice, practice.  I guess I've been flying props too long.  :lol

i have tried this soo many times while in a base supression pattern i sometimes think i forget about possible planes upping....

not ONCE have i managed it to be in the center, a few times kind of close to the edge but still on the grass next to the runway.
I don't know what to put here yet.

:rofl ;)   Smart arse...I was talking about flying maneuvers in Lock-on.

By the way, your new avatar gives me the same stomach ache I get when my 109G2 has a busted wing & I see 5 La-7's coming up on my six.  :o :(   :D

We will be making another one later on that will hopefully feature the full 6 ship delta formation. ;)

Oh...and yes that was online...there is a lot more lag then you would expect...you just don't see much of it from he ground.

Absolutely excellent work, but I have to know more about what you went through to do that.  It looked like some of the pans were perhaps done using TrackIR.  Am I right or was that fancy hat work?

It sounded like there might have been some Tbird audio tracks laid over the video or did you actually use mics and your own voices?

The credits listed the Tbirds as sticking with you through the project.  Were they teaching you the proper controls for the aerobatic manuevers, providing show sequencing, or what?

How long did it actually take to work through the project and what were the most difficult parts to work through?

How many hours of video did you take to edit down to 13 minutes?

Was there any comparsion you could make between the amount of practice it took to get that versus how much the real Tbirds put in?

I assume that the video was pieced together from single instances of good execution for each manuever, but were you ever able to fly the whole show all the way through?

Why'd you pick Lock On for the sim to use or put another way, how'd you come to choose Lock On?

Anyway, thanks for all the effort you put in.  It was definitely an eye opener.

That was absolutely superb!

Probably the best video I've ever seen of that nature... hell, maybe in general.

Lock on: Modern Air Combat,  Go to UBI.com.  Its not that bad just very confusing.  Try downloading the Demo 1st.
