Weird ...

That's very close to the Homo sovieticus natural behaviour.

Interesting.  So perhaps the holiday shopping lemmings would be well suited to Soviet rule?

Grun, most of those people are paying with...let me help you here...credit cards.

Consumer spening is at an all time high, but so is consumer debt.  That, combined with a massive federal debt, war spending and a declining dollar is kind of scary.

I'm concerned, having witnessed a trends towards "flight" from the US dollar in investors.

I haven't read all of the GS thread because I don't want to get involved in another Euro/US bash fest.

But there is my 2 cents on the state of the US economy right now.

:(   Don't think for a second that I am happy about it.  Our dollar is pegged to the US dollar.

But are they really "great deals"?

I seem to remember years ago someone telling me that what stores do is mark everything up to a higher price then lower them down to theyre regular prices to everyone thinks they are getting a deal.

Reguardless.
Couldnt get me to go shopping this weekend if they were giving stuff away.
I hate long lines and I hate being stuck in small buildings with large crowds, half of which dont seem to know what they are doing or seem to have this sixth sence as to where I want to go and do everything in their power to make that trip as difficult and as irritating as possible.

Sort of, you said "American Rubles" so I wanted to show that we have long lines in front of our stores too, just like soviets did...

Was it that difficult?
