T-34/76: Stalingrad 1942, Winter
« on: November 23, 2004, 10:03:07 PM »

 Finished but not submitted.

I'm having some trouble identifying the unit this particular vehicle served in.

I got the profile pic from web sources, and it seems that this particular tank, Number "106", is a pretty famous T-34.

I've located quite a few pictures of this tank depicted in many variations, from the winter camouflage to the ones in formal "parade markings" bearing the emblem of the Soviet Guard Tank Regiments - except none of the sources mentions a specific unit.

Anyone know which unit this tank belonged to? Currently that's what's keeping me from official submission - if no suggestions turn up I guess I'll have to just label it "T-34/76,Stalingrad,1942" in the text file.

It shines a big bright "kill me" sign in normal terrains, but I expect it to be a lot more fitting when terrain builders finally get the access to create winter terrains. :)

Actually, after looking at a few different depictions it seems the font for the numbering on the pic of the model I've attached with in the A/V forums is the inaccurate one.

Here's another, and more common depiction of this particular T-34:
