The weird part is that the police found no evidence of drug or alcohol use.  I though you are required to use drugs and/or alcohol if you own a lava lamp...

Why would he put a lava lamp on the stove??? This makes no sense at all.

Perhaps he didn't want to wait for the bulb to heat it to the requisite temperature. Guy wanted to sit back and get to 'enjoying' the relaxing, upward dripping motions of the good-ole lavalamp and gets dead instead. Didn't even have a chance to light his first bowl.

I makes about as much sense as putting jawbreakers in the microwave. I watched a Mythbusters episode where they showed children that did it. Turns out it melts an inner layer and when bitten hard enough, it explodes spraying molten candy everywhere. One girl had severe burns covering a large area of her face and eyes. When they tried to re-create it, 2 of the crew were burned when the first one exploded. They were several feet away.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

He lived in a trailer, didn't do drugs or alcohol, and his main form of entertainment was looking at a lava lamp....It's ashame the JBs lost a potential recruit.

Just a note of aviation interest for this subject. The guy that invented the lava lamp was an aerial gunner on Lancs during the war.

Question is, why are lava lamps grounds for assumption that hes a drug user.

I do understand its standard practice to do blood work and find cause of death etc. but why does the man need to be degraded in such a manner.

If he was a drug user... I smoke to him, and mourn another fallen brother.

Yeah man...like, I always figured he'd get it from an overdose, or drive off a cliff while high, or maybe get trampled at a concert or shot at a demonstration...but a shard of glass to the heart, from his own lava lamp? That really sucks dude.

Darwin is whipping you guys.

it's not proof, just probable cause.

the same as if he had Pink Floyd playing on the stereo when they came to investigate.
