Pongo, we need that same kinda thing up here.

Just think of it. You, out on the island... me in the prairies.... driving to work one morning when lo and behold, a kind of collective unconsciousness cloud of amnesia wafts through the vents and BLAMMO!

... we can't remember who our leader is.

As luck would have it... the very next moment we would look up and see, towering above us, a beacon. A lighthouse. On a rock. It would announce without any ambivalence whatsoever, "Paul Martin. Our leader."

Damn...

They onto something....

Color Psychology?

The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms.

The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention.

In the U.S. flag, white stands for purity and innocence. Red represents valor and hardiness, while blue signifies justice, perseverance, and vigilance. The stars represent the heavens and all the good that people strive for (1 for each state), while the stripes emulate the sun's rays.

Living Colour: Cult Of Personality

Look into my eyes, what do you see?
Cult of Personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
I've been everything you want to be
I'm the Cult of Personality
Like Mussolini and Kennedy
I'm the Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality

Neon lights, A Nobel Price
The mirror speaks, the reflection lies
You don't have to follow me
Only you can set me free
I sell the things you need to be
I'm the smiling face on your T.V.
I'm the Cult of Personality
I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three
I'm the Cult of Personality
Like Joseph Stalin and Gandhi
I'm the Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality
Cult of Personality

Neon lights a Nobel Prize
A leader speaks, that leader dies
You don't have to follow me
Only you can set you free

You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You me power in your God's name
I'm every person you need to be
I'm the Cult of Personality

I just can't wait to see the bronze statute that is certainly soon to be erected in DC. I hope to be able to visit it everyday and view it in quiet awe of our benevolent dict... leader.

Funny because there is currently a big effort being made by the ruling party here to take this wee island of ours Independent.

Under the former government, as an example, there was always a huge portrait of HRH Elizabeth II in the arrivals lounge at the airport.

As soon as the current government came into power they replaced that with a huge portrait of the Premier.

About two months ago all of the Financial Services companies were asked to check with our clients to see how they felt about Independence.  I happened to be having lunch with a client a few days later and asked him about the issue.

His response was that he would move all his companies immediately.  His reason - the big portrait of the Premier at the airport.  He said that it showed that the current government was all about self-glorification and reminded him of despotic governments he had dealt with in the past.

This billboard reminded me of that story.

Nice billboard. Paranoia perhaps in the extreme to see it for anything but what it is.
