My mission
« on: December 06, 2004, 03:13:42 PM »
My mission:

It was a cold and dreary Saturday night as I take off in my P51 Thunderbolt.  I lift my plane off the highway, but something is wrong!  Winds roll my plane left and right violently as my weather radar buzzes madly.  I scan my gauges, everything is right.  Flaps up, airspeed 90, landing gear lights green.  I continue my climb, hoping to get out of this windshear.

After about 35 minutes I reach my cruising height, 10000 feet.  Suddenly, ATTACK!  A unseen enemy attacks me, shooting off my landing gear (but no other damage, strange).  I know this because my gear light indicator suddenly turns orange.  I continue my search of the Red Baron.  This Dawn patrol I will win!

Enemy sighted!  He does not suspect me.  I line him up on my site.  This will be too easy.  Range is closing, 1000,800,600,400, range is perfect!  I fire, first one missle, then another.  But something is wrong!  My heat-seekers are not locking on.  All missles launched, I fly away.  The red baron will live today....

Then I spot enemy boats.  Bombs engaged, I roll in on target.  My wingman shane is with me.  "LASE TARGET SHANE" I say.  Once again i repeat.  BOMBS AWAY!  But they miss, shane doesnt know how to use laser designator (lol noob!).

Finally it is time to land.   Line up for approach, airspeed 250, let her down slowly now.  Treat her like a woman or she will bite!  Airspeed 275 now, everything is perfect.  SURPRISE ATTACK.  Enemy sneaks up on me and shoots my prop crooked.  LOSING CONTROL.  My p51 thunderbolt careens out of control.  Must eject! Alt F4 Alt F4 Alt F4.  But something is wrong and I am booted out of game :(

You got booted out of the game because God was putting you out of your misery.

What? This guy ate some wild mushrooms and started to have hallucinations.
P51 Thunderbolt ? :lol Missiles?

Try to land a P51 or any other WWII fighter at 250 and you will crash on the tarmac, 125 more likely.
And then you admit to using the Alt-F4 key, what's wrong with you people?

and I have often wonder how landing gear being shot off ( you see the wheel and strut assembly and wheel flap cover falling) when it is closed in the up position and supposedly locked? I mean really it could be damaged to where it turns the gear indicator orange/red but would it actually be shot off?  I have always found this some what amusing
