Nice Warps
« on: January 02, 2005, 01:28:25 AM »
I fought this guy for a long time.  Everytime I got into a kill position he warped out.  I recorded the last few times he did this.  I made a dozen passes on this guy and he would be rock steady until he lost the edge.  We fought all the way down from 22k it just kept repeating.  He would be solid until he lost the edge and I had a shot.

looks a little suspect, kinda funny how these warps only happen when you're on a guys tail.

i think skuzzy needs to look into something i thought of.

if you run an internet program outside of AH that has a hot key for some action, is it possible that pressing this hotkey whilst playing could interupt the connection in game?

does seem like i only see guys warp when im about to kill them.

great fight btw.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

I just want to add another thought.

I had to play AHII on *minimum* specs (laptop).
On bad fps days i noticed id get micro-freezes/warps every time i started firing a gun. Dont know if it was graphics or sound, but it usually made the con warp out of gun resolution, still i do believe it was me warping.

You never know where the warp is originated for sure, it also might show different on the FEs.

This does by no means explain the 2k up-warp this 109 is capable of. He sure needed them.

Oh, and towards the end of the film he dove below ground level, right through the hill. I was still wondering why you didnt get the kill (even though youd pinged him earlier) when he came back up. Is this a bug in film viewer or did it really happen?

I have no idea.  On my screen he went into the ground.  I was so shocked I augered.  The P40 scored some hits on me but I had no damage.  I augered from trying to watch where the 109 came out.

It may appear that the plane went through the ground, but in fact it did not.  At least on the opponents computer.  I haven't seen the film yet.  But I can tell you this.  If the last update showed him pointing down doing 300mph and didn't update for 4 sec, for those 4seconds without updates, your computer will continue to show his plane going in the same direction at the same speed.  Then when you saw his plane pull out of the ground, that was because the next update had his plane at a different spot in the air, going in a different direction at a different speed.  So instead of seeing his plane teleport to that next position, your computer will show his plane warp to that position.

Besides, I think HTC has it so that the closer you are to the other plane, the more updates you will receive.  More effecient that way.  So the closer you are to the enemy, the more updates you'll need to not notice the warps.
Time's fun when you're having flies.
