Rap isn't "culture" anymore than metal is. Most of the rappers that get capped are generally setting themselves up for it with a hateful and self-destructive lifestyle, though. And yes ... it shows in their "music." Now say it isn't so. ;)

I just want to show this community the double standard that is present. If this were a hip hop concert the comments on this post would have been all negative. The bling bling gangsta comments would have been pouring out. Ask yourself, why is that? Just goes to show violence is not restricted by race or culture.

Reverse Discrimination is funny.  Discrimination was NEVER mentioned until you posted jamusta.  Now you're trying to throw it back in our face?  Get a fuggin life.

Yup,  it's all Rap's fault this nut killed a guy in cold blood, who did nothing more than make an honest living doing what he loves.

Don't blame the music, blame the tard who took music too seriously.

there is a HUGE difference in what those (to use your words) bling bling ganstas do in their every day life, or in the past, and the average metal dude.

and like i said, the bling bling's like to sing the praises of their homie who died in a shootout with tha police.

take your reverse racisim and shove it up your panzy ass.

You have to be kidding me. One song? i will give it to ya tonite for sure. Dont got time now.

racism asside.... nobody deserves to be shot for performing and... rap or metal... that generally isn't the case...  women, drugs or something else is the reason..  criminal ties... you want to hang with the sociopaths?   why are you shocked when they act.... sociopathic?

dimebag?  maybe some of his bags were a little short of a dime?

I don't 'S!' any veteran or even an AH member in a  death thread because I don't think it adds much,  so I'm no spokesman for hoping the O'club retards try to not get too overboard beating themselves up on this one making it a gun control vs. rap vs. a racist thing. I expect that.

I'll just add, this was a very unexpected pitiful and sad event that took place. Never met the guy, but through his home videos, and music, that was one incredible musician, and a standup man. It didn't make me cry, it won't stop me from going to work and going about my day, but for once in a very long time, I feel actual remorse and saddness. That's one cool dude that deserved better than a fat **** ending his life. I try not to think about his brother who has to deal with this, who has the same qualities as Dime in every sense.

Anyway, he will be missed. Life goes on.

creamo... don't know anything about the guy or the circumstance but... the name "dimebag" suggests living on the edge.    Living on the edge you tend to be around edgey people.   That may not be the case here.

Hey, this is a thread honoring the memory of a great musician, a local legend, and a great man, who met an untimely and tragic end. Thinking back on his music that I have been listening to for the past 15 years, I realize that this man wrote the soundtrack to my life. His death has affected me and my friends greatly..... he will truely be missed....
Now can you do me a favor, and go talk about racism, gun control and all that other crap in some other thread..... Thank you.

Jamusta made a good point, what's the problem? When something like this happens in hip hop, it is posted as something that happened because of a "culture", but where 90% of the members here like the music this band played, it's a tragic loss of life. His point is that this happens in any "culture" and should all be treated as a tragic loss of life.

Whenever a death in music is posted here it gets sidetracked to different topics, I do not see why this thread should be any different.
