AH ignores an X52 analog input.
« on: December 09, 2004, 08:56:23 AM »
Its the large rotary on the X52 throttle. Windows can see it and AH can see all the other analog inputs from pedals (ch pro), the X52 and indeed the mouse.

Analogs used and abused on my system are........

Pitch and roll axis.........X52
Rudder....................... ..CH pro pedals
Throttle..................... ...X52 throttle
RPM.......................... ....X52 throttle (RPM increases/decreases with throttle)
Pitch trim......................X52 slider (on throttle)
Rudder trim..................X52 small wheel (on throttle)
Left Brake.....................CH pro pedals
Right Brake...................CH pro pedals

No selection..................X5 2 twisty (Rz on Joy stick)
Ignores input................X52 large wheel

I have tried playing with the device picking order in windows and have checked the device dead band settings in windows (available to the X52) all with no joy.

Is there a limit to the number of analogs AH can see? or have inputted. What am I missing to solve this?

Just curious why you have the brakes set to your rudder pedals, if you are using analog pedals?  The analog ones dont have brakes.

can the knob that AH can't see be programmed in the Saitek software and used that way?

My X45 has the top knob banded for rudder trim as when programmed as an axis in the AH side, it was too squirrely. The other rotors are axis through AH. AH commands overrides any Saitek profile commands in the game.

can the X52 analog knob be used the same way??

Hi eagler

Actually as an ex  X45 owner I can confirm that AH sees all its analogue inputs so you can profile it directly in the AH joystick selection GUI you do not need to use key stroke emulation via banding.

Of course I could band the analogue  via the Saitek soft ware.

The X52 has an extra analogue input over the X45. (as well as pure mouse emulation elsewhere)

On the X52 the rudder is now moved to the JS(twisty) and the 3 position switch is now a slider. AH recognises the slider but fails to recognise the top rotary.

I have now unlocked the twisty and set it as rudder trim..........which has turned out to be quite neat ...................as I can induce very subtle side slip during evasives.
